Math at First Sight

In matters mathematical, my sense of visual intuition is more developed than my ability to work with symbols. Consequently I've been attracted to subjects in recreational mathematics that involve geometrical figures that I can see and manipulate. I've been especially interested in polyominoes and other polyforms, and I've come up with some new problems and results that I'm quite happy with.

  Pentomino Coloring Problems: Map colorings on pentomino tilings with a twist. Four twists, in fact.

  L-topia: A puzzle set I had manufactured from laser-cut plastic. It turned out quite nicely.
