Statute of Limitations

Is there a statute of limitations on love?

I ask because--

There was a girl I knew,

A sonnet I wrote.

We're still friends,

And I'd like to show her now but--

Would it embarass her?

Would she think I still felt the same?

Do I?

The girl is real, and the sonnet is real, and no, you can't see it. It's really bad in any case, and I kind of don't want the girl to read it after all.
